About the event
There was a time when you had to wait for your favorite music video. Check the cable, turn on the TV, or run to someone who had a satellite. Music videos weren't everywhere yet and right away, you had to watch them. MTV. HITS FROM THE SATELLITE goes back to the moment when songs began to have a face, a body and a choreography. The clips changed the way we listened to music and MTV became a window into a world that seemed closer to the heart than everyday life outside the window. POLPO MOTEL and SZANIAWSKX are creating a musical performance, concert and theatrical playlist composed of hits of the 80s, 90s and 2000s. There will be the energy of the recital, phenomenal choreographies, powerful performances and the pleasure of recognizing songs that built (build) the imagination of generations. MTV is dead. But before we put them in the grave, it is worth checking what actually goes away with it. Before us is the musical burial of an idea: a world in which songs were not only listened to, but also watched. In which a neighborhood colleague with a satellite antenna became a guide to a completely new world, and three minutes of video and sound could open the door to another life. It's a show made up of hits and questions about what has happened to our imaginations since waiting for music together was replaced by scrolling through everything alone. But instead of mourning, we propose a joyful dance over the coffin.
