It's getting colder and colder and we're pulling warmer jackets out of the closet. We look closely at them: what colors, patterns they have. We want to look good in them and feel good in them.
And can architecture also have its mantle?
It turns out that yes! Sometimes buildings get unusual, colorful “coverings” that cover the walls. These are murals — big paintings painted on buildings. They can tell stories, show people, animals or fantastic worlds.
Thanks to them, even on a cloudy day, a walk around the city can become much more interesting.
What if a building needed a brand new coat?
What could he look like? What story would he tell?
Architects, come!
We will discover the Warsaw murals, find out who creates them, and then we will design our own mural coat for the building.
Colorful utensils are waiting for you.
The workshop is conducted by Katarzyna Pucuła - art historian, sociologist and anthropologist. Educator associated with the Warsaw Museum and the National Museum in Warsaw. Her main research interests include the social impact of art past and present and the history of customs.
For whom: families with children from 7 to 12 years
Check out the year-round workshop program.
