About the event

Jan Michalak invites you to a unique concert as part of DębicaArt — Visions and Inspirations.

This year's edition of the event will be an extraordinary musical journey through Europe and South America. On one stage, world compositions, masterful performances, unusual voices and outstanding instrumentalists will meet.

Cracow — Lisbon. Two cultures, one voice

The first part of the concert will take listeners to the world of Portuguese Fado and Polish compositions written especially for a unique artist — Kingi Rataj.

Kinga Rataj is one of the most interesting vocal discoveries of recent years. She is a laureate of many music festivals, as well as a participant in numerous recitals and concerts. For years he has been successfully performing fado songs in Portuguese, also reaching for his own, author's songs. Her concerts are an encounter with music full of longing, passion and extraordinary emotions.

The artist will be accompanied by excellent musicians: Marek Bazela — piano and Sebastian Bazela — violin.

Piazzola - tango

In the second part of the concert we will move to Argentina, where the most famous compositions and tango of Astor Piazzolla will sound. It will be a meeting with music full of energy, drama and South American temperament. The program will include “Oblivion”, “Libertango”, “El Choclo”, “Fuga y Misterio” and “Adiós Nonino”.

Piazzolla's works will be performed masterfully by an ensemble composed by outstanding instrumentalists: Mateusz Dudek — accordion and arrangements, Bartosz Talark — accordion, Bartosz Kołsut — bandoneon/accordion and Jan Karpala — violin.

The musical journey through Argentina will also be joined by Marlena Rygiel — mezzo-soprano, who will perform Polish and world tangas maintained in Piazzolla's style, including “Under the Blue Sky of Argentina”, “Tango Desperado”, “Tango 'Amore”, “Yo Soy María” and “Por Una Cabeza”.

The artists of the second part of the concert are graduates and educators of prestigious music universities in Poland and abroad, experienced soloists and chamber music masters, performing on the biggest stages of Poland and the world and winners of numerous music competitions and awards.

The screenwriter and director of the concert is Jan Michalak.
