The magic of Hogwarts, galactic travel, legendary superheroes and virtual worlds that have permanently entered pop culture. The concert will combine film music and game music, recalling stories that have inspired successive generations of viewers and players around the world for years.

The Silesian Chamber Orchestra will take the audience on a journey through worlds full of adventure, emotion and unforgettable heroes. The program will include themes from blockbusters such as Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman, Superman, Avatar, Pearl Harbor, Skyfall, The Lion King and Shrek, as well as music from games that have become a permanent part of the history of electronic entertainment.

Film music has long been an integral part of the stories told. It makes the magic of Hogwarts seem more extraordinary, the journey of the Ring Team more epic, and the galactic adventures of Star Wars heroes even more thrilling. Creators such as John Williams, Howard Shore or Hans Zimmer have created themes that have become as recognizable as the characters and stories that accompany them.

Nevertheless, music plays an important role in the world of computer games. Themes from The Sims, Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat and Grand Theft Auto V have been building the atmosphere of the game for years and contributing to the experience of millions of players. Contemporary game music is increasingly on par with Hollywood productions, and its creators use the same means of expression as film composers — large orchestras, elaborate themes and striking sounds.

During the concert, both full-bodied symphonic compositions and music carrying nostalgia, humor and emotion will sound. From the dark worlds of Gotham and Requiem for Sleep, to the adventurous stories of Indiana Jones and Lara Croft, to magical, fairy-tale and fantastical universes, the evening will become an encounter with the music that has accompanied the greatest film and gaming phenomena of modern culture for years.
