About the event

We invite you to an evening full of drama, romantic elation and youthful joy of music. “Music of Passion” is a concert in which emotions take on different faces: from stormy conflict, through the lyrical depth of the cello, to the serene verve of a classical symphony.

The evening will begin with Ludwig van Beethoven's “Coriolan” Overture. This is one of the most dramatic works of the composer, in which tension, inner struggle and strength of the character of the title character are felt from the very first sounds. The concise form and powerful expression make the overture a superb opening for the concert.

The central point of the program will be the Cello Concerto in A minor by Robert Schumann. The piece combines singleness, nostalgia and romantic fervor, and the solo part remains in constant dialogue with the orchestra. This music is intimate and full of inner warmth, in which the cello speaks in an almost human voice. The soloist will be Tomasz Daroch, Grand Prix winner of the Witold Lutosławski International Cello Competition and winner of the Fryderyk Prize.

At the end, Franz Schubert's Fifth Symphony will be played. Composed by a nineteen-year-old artist, it features classic clarity, melodious melodies and natural lightness. It is music full of grace and optimism that allows you to breathe a sigh of relief from the emotions of the first part of the evening.

In this concert, passion has many faces: from the Beethoven drama, through the romantic lyricism of Schumann, to the luminous youth of Schubert. The Karol Namysłowski Symphony Orchestra in Zamość under the baton of Jacek Rogala will be accompanied by Tomasz Daroch.
