Music painted with a brush. About the work of M. K. Čiurlionis | Labas! Hello!

The lecture, prepared on the basis of literature focusing on the work of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, aims to introduce his artistic activity taking into account its musical accent. Particular attention will be paid to the interpenetration of the arts in his work, especially the links between painting composition and musical structure. The author was hailed as the most outstanding representative of Lithuanian culture at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, which underlines his importance in the art history of the region. Symbolism was close to him, but his work went beyond its stylistic framework. He is considered one of the forerunners of abstractionism and surrealism, which makes his work extremely innovative and difficult to classify unequivocally.
