What happens to music when the light goes out?
When images disappear, vision ceases to distract, and each sound takes on a new meaning. Darkness sharpens the senses, allows you to hear more, feel deeper and pause for a moment in a world that rushes too fast on a daily basis.
“Music in the Dark” is an unusual event during which almost total darkness becomes a space for attentive listening. It's a concert that you don't see with your eyes — you live it with your heart and imagination.
The evening was divided into two special parts, between which we will invite you to a cup of aromatic tea — a moment of breathing and quiet conversations.
Part 1: “Two Souls”
Lukasz Dembinski & Buba Badjie Kuyateh (Gambia)
The first part of the concert will be filled with music from the album “Two Souls” - a meeting of two artists from different cultures, united by a common sensitivity and love for sound.
Łukasz Dembiński brings out subtle, mesmerizing sounds from the handpan — a contemporary instrument with an extremely warm and ethereal timbre. He is accompanied by Buba Badjie Kuyateh, an outstanding Gambian master of the bark, the traditional 21-string harp of West Africa, coming from the griot family — guardians of the musical tradition.
Their music knows no bounds. It combines modernity with centuries-old tradition, Europe with Africa, silence with rhythm. Delicate melodies, subtle instrument dialogues and an African pulse create an atmosphere that envelops the listener and invites you to an inner journey.
In the dark, every sound becomes more expressive, and the music takes on a whole new dimension.
After the first part, we invite you for a cup of aromatic tea. This is a time for a moment of respite, reflection and quiet conversation before plunging into the world of sounds again.
PART II — Concert of bowls and gongs
Catherine Biernat
The second part of the evening will be filled with a concert of bowls and gongs performed by Katarzyna Biernat — a naturotherapist who has been accompanying people for years in finding harmony, peace and mindfulness.
Her approach is based on the belief that true encounter begins with stopping and listening — of yourself, the other person and the world around you. This philosophy is also reflected in concerts, during which sound becomes a space of deep relaxation and silence.
The vibrations of bowls and gongs do not lead the melody in the traditional sense. They create a soundscape that allows you to relax, relax the body and calm the mind. In the dark, the experience becomes even more intense — only the sound, the breath and the moment of presence remain.
“Music in the Dark” is no ordinary concert. It is an experience that allows you to disconnect for a moment from excess stimuli, slow down and listen to what usually remains inaudible.
We invite you to an evening full of music, silence, imagination and meetings — with sound, with the other person and with yourself.
The concert is intended for people over 12 years of age.
