This guided tour presents the permanent exhibition with a focus on the historical period after 1945.
An examination of the iconic architecture of the museum building is part of the exhibition tour.
An approximately 40 meter long walkway is an expansive element through the post-1945 period. Restitution and “reparation,” the triangular relationship between Germany, Israel and Jews*Jews in Germany and the waves of immigration and emigration of Jews*Jews to and from Germany will be just as much a topic as Russian-language immigration from 1990.
In a final chorus, Jews talk about their Jewishness in Germany on 21 monitors. The images and original sounds are combined to form a polyphonic final chord of Jewish life today.
