During the lecture, an unusual phenomenon from the VI-IV century BC, when elements of human faces were modeled on grave ceramics will be presented. The urns in which the remains of the dead were often decorated with geometric motifs, plants, but also scenes from real life. The Bydgoszcz Museum has a magnificent collection of such vessels — facial ashtrays.
The head of the Archaeology Department Józef Łoś and Dr. Krzysztof Jarzęcki from the Numismatics Department will tell about them.
Participants of the meeting will also learn about the funerary customs of this period and the symbolism of prehistoric performances.
Admission: 10 PLN/person, tickets to be purchased at the box office and on the Museum website
