About the event

A new 4K restored version of one of the greatest masterpieces of Spanish cinema on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its premiere. The premiere screening at the Kosmos Cinema will take place on Monday, November 2, and the lecture will be given by the film expert and founder of the distribution company Past Perfect: Dr. Sebastian Smolinski.

There was a little girl in red golf who lived in a big house with two sisters, an aunt and a grandmother. And although every day she played with dolls, danced and ran in the garden, when she went to bed in the evening, her room became a magical space where she could see her mother again...

Just over 50 years old, Feed the Ravens by master Carlos Saura is a film full of fairy tales — not only for its timeless charm, but also for its mystery and darkness. The world we see is full of amazing objects and tightly fenced off from reality, although sometimes the women who inhabit it reach everyday anxiety. Bathed in a green glow that foreshadows the autumn aura, the film evokes associations with another story about memory, memories and the power of children's imagination — Céline Sciamma's Little Mom.

This as fleeting as it is disturbing story about 8-year-old Anna (the unforgettable Ana Torrent), who one summer faces emotions towards her beloved mother (the hypnotic Geraldine Chaplin) is one of the most beautiful Spanish films of all time. Fusing children's imaginations with local history, the film is both a poignant portrait of childhood and a diagnosis of a nation from years under the dictatorship of General Franco. “And because they're leaving,” as Jeannette's boomerang-like song points out, “and the years of youth, and despotic rule, the trace of them has been perpetuated as a cinematic memory.

The restored 4K version was made in 2026 and shown for the first time in the Cannes Classics section at this year's Cannes Festival.
