Our revolution

“Our Revolution” is a story of love stronger than fear, repression and political violence. This is the story of two people who believed that together they could change the world — and who were able to turn that faith into action. He — charismatic, uncompromising, ready to pay the highest price for his beliefs. She — courageous, full of warmth and determination, a quiet force at the heart of the common struggle. Their affection is her heart and engine.

In the background of their reports, key events of Poland's recent history take place: workers' protests, the birth of the democratic opposition, the activities of the Workers' Defence Committee, surveillance, imprisonment and the drama of martial law. The camera guides the viewer from the intimate moments of home life to moments of historical trial in which privacy gives way to responsibility for others. The home of the protagonists becomes a space of conspiracy, and everyday life — a constant choice between security and solidarity.

The film shows how a big idea intertwines with intimacy and how private life becomes part of the story. It is a moving portrait of two people who have proven that love can be an act of courage and that it can be a force capable of changing the course of events.
