It is the year 2060, and the pastures and wildlife cease to exist, so the Lord, their guardian deity, loses his job. His/his (gender identity not defined) new occupation is to sow panic, which is to cause time to move forward again. For a good few decades it has stood still and spread wide. Interest rates on loans for synthetic fingers are rising, tourism is booming (there is too much paper in heaven), and the market of synthetic prostheses is dominated by a monopolist — Janusz Cybernetyka Exportowa sp. z o.o.

At the center of this futuristic and dystopian universe are the war veteran Mrs. Watterson and a toaster — a gift from the homeland for the losses suffered. The absurd is mixed here with existential questions, words stuck in the throat can suffocate, and toasts need a really good reason to bake.

With bravado, accuracy of diagnosis and deliciously grotesque humor, the young creators challenge the vision of a better tomorrow and the security of the status quo, raising questions about the limits of conformity, convenience and adaptation. “Electric Prostheses Janusz Cybernetyka Eksporta — what a credit to the road, after all, you could not have had a leg!”

Dominik Gorbaczyński is the laureate of the 2nd edition of the WyspianKiss project organized by the St. Wyspiański Silesian Theater, and the performance is created as a realization of the Main Prize of the review.

The performance is co-financed by the Stanisław Wyspiański Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków as part of the Fundusz na Start programme.
