Overnight on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, two of the Oscar-winning directors behind “No Other Land” interview Israeli intelligence officers and military personnel, who expose the Israeli military's systematic killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. NAZA won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, where the film received the longest standing ovation in the festival's history.
'Naza' is a term used by the Israeli military to calculate the estimate of how many civilians become accidental casualties in a planned military attack.
Directors Rachel Szor and Yuval Abraham have themselves put into words the motivation behind “Naza”: “We made the film out of a sense of duty as Israelis to explore the system behind the mass killing of Palestinian civilians for which our country is responsible. Over the three years we worked on the film, we asked ourselves the same question that our grandparents' generation - and people throughout the 1900s - have asked: How can one group of people allow another group to be completely dehumanized? What do the internal mechanisms of such a system look like? “
