Naza

“NAZA” is a high-profile 2026 documentary directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, with a production co-created by, among others, Jonathan Glazer. The documentary shows the mechanisms of the war in the Gaza Strip and the backstage of military decision-making. The word “naza” is a military acronym for the accepted number of civilian casualties (so-called “collateral casualties”) attributed to a specific military objective (e.g., a dozen children killed in exchange for the elimination of one commander). The film is based on the heartfelt and shocking testimonies of 24 Israeli intelligence officers and soldiers. The conversations were recorded at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv. The developers are analyzing a system in which human life and the death of civilians become a cold, automated technological procedure.
