Nepela

Czechoslovakia, 1972. Ondrej Nepela returns from the Winter Olympics in Sapporo with a gold medal as a star at the height of his career. In the country, he is greeted not only by fame, but also by the realities of the communist regime, for which sporting success is an instrument of propaganda. Sensitive and withdrawn, Nepela longs to get out of the uncomfortable “golden cage”. He wants to live in harmony with who he really is. The foreign trip promised to him is canceled at the last minute, and the athlete is ordered to start in the world championship, for the sake of the country's reputation.
