Music can be experienced in different ways and with all the senses, and new technologies are redefining its perception and experience. During sensory workshops conducted by accessibility and neurodiversity specialists from Per Aspera Foundation, listening stations will be available using two types of haptic devices — Woojer vests and bHaptics. Participants will be able to compare which way of sensations suits them more: whether close to vibrating massage or expanding sensory impressions. In addition, they will also listen to haptic-enriched 360-degree ambisonic sound recordings in the form of VR concerts - thanks to special Meta Quest glasses, the audience can feel as if they are standing on stage among the musicians.
About the event
As part of the workshop, great emphasis will be placed on a personal and intimate relationship with music. We will talk together about how it affects a person's well-being — it can be used for relaxation, therapy, but also be a reason for procreation. The conversation will be conducted by an arbitrator in a specially prepared sensory corner equipped with weight vests and sensory toys. Participants will have the opportunity to listen to diverse musical examples and see which of the proposed compositions works on them the most relaxing and where are their limits of acceptance for different sound parameters.
Classes will show neurodiversity in practice. The workshop is designed for anyone interested in music, emotions, sensory development, but also new technologies and experiments.
The classes will be led by specialists from the Per Aspera Foundation.
The workshop is designed for people from 8 years of age.
The number of places is limited.
Classes will last 1.5 hours.
The workshop takes place as part of the SCT Hub — Codesign the Future of Sustainable Cultural Tourism project funded by the European Urban Initiative programme.
