From October 19 to 25, 2026, NewGen returns to Berlin — with a program that addresses the realities of young people's lives today. Against the backdrop of changing economic, social and cultural landscapes in Asia and Europe, this year's festival explores how young people deal with identity, migration, an uncertain future, and self-determination. The program comprises six feature films — starting with our opening screening of JIN-ROH: THE WOLF BRIGADE and ending with THE WORLD OF LOVE — as well as 23 competition short films in the fields of fiction, documentary, animation and hybrid forms.
The opening and closing screenings will take place in Neues Off, the other feature films will be shown in Rollberg, and the short film competition will be held at P60. Join us for a week full of films, talks and joint encounters.
