Nick McBrain

An Evening With Nicko McBrain

Nicko McBrain is best known as the drummer of the iconic British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, which he became a part of in 1983 leading up to the recording of the classic album “Piece of Mind”. Since then, he has been a key part of the band's distinctive sound and starred on numerous of the group's most successful releases and worldwide tours.

Prior to his time in Iron Maiden, McBrain was already building a strong name on the international rock scene. In the 1970s, he played with guitarist Pat Travers, among others, and was a member of the British rock band Streetwalkers.

In the early 1980s, he played in the band McKitty, where, during a concert in Belgium, he first met Iron Maiden bassist and founder Steve Harris - an encounter that would later become pivotal to his career.
