Fear not — a show about love, loneliness and the courage to start over. The play “Do not be afraid” does not give ready-made answers, but opens up space for a conversation about relationships, feelings and modern relationships. It is a lyrical-satirical story maintained in a light, humorous tone, enriched with poetry. The show also addresses the topic of mental health, emotional awareness and building mental resilience, responding to the needs of the audience functioning in a reality marked by stress, uncertainty and the fast pace of life.
The protagonist of the play, Edgar (in this role Arakadiusz Gołębiowski), is looking for his ideal — sometimes even idealistic — muse, life partner. He ends up in the office of psychologist Katarzyna (Monika Lecińska), where she begins a subtle and at times comic attempt to understand the genesis of infatuation — that first, elusive impulse when we meet another person.
Don't be afraid, this reflective yet humorous portrait of lonely people trying to change their destinies — and a warning of how unpredictable the consequences can sometimes be. Costumes by Kate Zee (Katarzyna Żmuda-Trzebiatowska) add colour and character to the show. The production of the show is the Municipal Cultural Centre in Legionowo and is co-financed by the Mazowieckie Voivodship Self-Government within the framework of the “Strategy for the Development of Culture in the Mazowieckie Voivodship”.
