Helios Blue City
The sky over Normandy
Helios Blue City, WarszawaAbout the event
A gripping film based on the real, previously untold scenes of the Allied landing in Normandy in 1944. “Heaven Over Normandy” is a story about responsibility and how one man can influence the course of history. Starring: master of complex roles, charismatic Andrew Scott (“Good Strangers”), Oscar winner Brendan Fraser (“The Whale”), Emmy and Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis (“Homeland”) and all-rounder Kerry Condon (“F1”). Behind the camera was Anthony Maras, director of the gripping thriller, based on the facts of “Hotel Mumbai”. 72 hours before landing in Normandy, the fate of the world is supposed to depend on... the weather. War is not only about battles, it is about strategies and decisions, the consequences of which can be felt by millions. British Army meteorologist James Stagg (Andrew Scott) must make the most important decision of his career — the forecast he makes could determine the success or failure of the largest military operation in history. Locked in an atmosphere of distrust and pressure from top commanders, Stagg fights a psychological battle against time, supported only by Captain Kay Summersby (Kerry Condon). It's up to General Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser), who must decide whether to proceed with the invasion or delay it — at the risk of Germany discovering the plans of the Allies.
