72 hours before landing in Normandy, the fate of the world will depend on... the weather. War is not only about battles, it is about strategies and decisions, the consequences of which can be felt by millions. Meteorologist James Stagg (Andrew Scott), who works for the British Army, must make the most important decision of his career - the forecast he presents could determine the success or defeat of the largest military operation in history. Locked in an atmosphere of distrust and pressure from top commanders, Stagg fights a psychological battle against time, supported only by Captain Kay Summersby (Kerry Condon). It's up to General Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser), who must decide whether to proceed with the invasion or delay it - at the risk that Germany will discover the plans of the Allies.
