72 hours before landing in Normandy, the fate of the world will depend on... the weather. War is not only about battles, it is about strategies and decisions, the consequences of which can be felt by millions. James Stagg, a meteorologist working for the British Army, must make the most important decision of his career — the forecast he makes could determine the success or failure of the largest military operation in history. Locked in an atmosphere of distrust and pressure from top commanders, Stagg struggles psychologically against time, supported only by Captain Kay Summersby. It's up to General Dwight D. Eisenhower, who must decide whether to go ahead with the invasion or delay it — at the risk of Germany discovering the Allies' plans.
