The hater

Mr. Jot, a man who collects donations for medicines with little effect, suddenly becomes a hero of public life. Money will begin to flow into the beggar's hat in a broad stream when he discovers that the dominant emotion of our social life is hatred. Does Mr. Jot — the Hater — like a tragic actor, bring catharsis to society — liberation from destructive emotions, or does he generate them?

“I could wait fifteen minutes... The principal bends down and whispers his name. Mr. Jot gives a sign that he understands. He lays down comfortably, with his hands on his knees like that of a yogi, stares blankly into the space in front of him. After a while, the principal nods his head with satisfaction and leaves.”
