Infinite Karma | Splat! FilmFest

In the Canadian town of Westridge comes Buffet Infinity, a new restaurant that is quickly starting to threaten local businesses. As a mysterious hole appears in the area and the inhabitants begin to disappear, the real horror slowly emerges from advertisements, news and local television programs. “Buffet Infinity” is a mesmerizing comedy horror that abandons the traditional narrative and tells its story through hundreds of real and TV-styled spots from the 80s and 90s, each one another piece of an intricate puzzle, under whose absurd surface lies an intelligent satire on consumerism and the lust for expansion. Simon Glassman's feature-length debut is an extremely original formal experiment that turns nostalgia for local television into a source of an increasingly disturbing nightmare.
