“Unexpected Return” - Daniel Olbrychski and Tomasz Karolak

It promises to be a unique theatrical evening in Wodzisław Śląski. Already on October 19, 2026 at 18:00 on the stage of the Wodzisławskie Cultural Center you will be able to see the performance “Unexpected Return” — a comedy-drama that combines intelligent humor with reflection on family relationships and the life of the actor.

The play by Serge Kribus is a thicket of different threads that weave together in a story full of emotion and brilliant dialogues. At the center of events is an actor preparing for the role of King Lear — a character who is demanding and at the same time full of artistic and personal challenges. In this role we will see the legend of Polish cinema and theater — Daniel Olbrychski, who himself has repeatedly faced Shakespeare's repertoire.

On stage he will be partnered by Tomasz Karolak, who plays the role of the main character's son. Their stage relationship becomes the axis of the story, in which family tensions, everyday problems and situations that can amuse to tears - especially when they do not directly concern ourselves.

“Unexpected Return” is a performance for viewers who appreciate good theatrical entertainment and excellent acting. A stellar cast, intelligent humor and a universal story about the relationship between father and son make this evening truly special.
