“Invisible fairy tales. Based on 'Stories for Children' by Icchok Bashevis Singer, directed by Paweł Paszta, it is a poetic, tender and imaginative journey into the world created by one of the most important Jewish writers of the 20th century — Icchok Bashevis Singer.
Although Icchok Bashevis Singer is widely known today as a Nobel Prize winner and author of outstanding novels for adults, throughout his life he also created children's literature with extraordinary passion. He wanted the youngest audience to learn about Jewish folklore, folk wisdom and the magic of stories as naturally as one gets to know the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. In his stories humor is intertwined with thrill, kindness with playfulness, and ordinariness with a touch of charm. It is from this lesser-known, childlike part of Singer's work that our spectacle grows.
“Invisible Fairy Tales” transports viewers into a colorful world full of unusual characters - honest fools, clever spirits, witches, singing leaves and heroes guided by folk wisdom. Everything is immersed in the warm atmosphere of stories snatched by the fire, the smell of fresh cake and the glow of the Hanukkah lamp.
The protagonists of the show are blind children who tell and live the stories born of their dreams. Here the picture is not the starting point — it appears only at the end, leaving room for the viewer's imagination. This is a story about the power of fantasy, about how closed eyes can open doors to the most beautiful worlds.
The performance “Invisible Fairy Tales” is an invitation to a world in which the story pulsates like a living organism, and the imagination becomes the most important tool of the viewer.
The performance is enriched by songs and live music performed by cellist Aleksandra Monkiewicz.
