Until 100 years ago, many scientists thought that our Milky Way Galaxy was the entire Universe. Today we know how wrong they were. The Milky Way is just one of billions of stellar islands scattered across the Universe.
During the “Invisible Universe” session, you'll learn what dark matter and dark energy are, which we can't see, and make up as much as 95% of the cosmos. You will see how astronomers search for answers to fundamental questions about the entire cosmos. You will look at the Milky Way as shown with the latest astronomical data. You will also visit the Mount Wilson Observatory, where Edwin Hubble discovered the law of expansion of the Universe, laying the foundation for the Big Bang theory. This discovery and increasingly perfect technologies give astronomers a chance to understand the observed phenomena. Perhaps we will soon find out how the Universe formed and how it has changed over 13.8 billion years?
Lecturer: Jerzy Radziwiłowicz
We recommend the show to people over 15 years of age. Before the film, there is a live show hosted by the Planetarium presenters.
