SLAVE ISAURA

A comedic and daring performance about the most popular series of the turn of the 80s/90s, inspired by the abolitionist novel by Bernardo Guimarães from 1875. The entertaining formula of playing the plot from The Slave of Isaura mixes with the sharp humor about the profession of the artist. The phenomenal acting goes hand in hand with a deeper message — what really turns us on in the beautiful Brazilian slave? And why do sexy people have it easier in life? The authors of the text explore the limits of political correctness and the viability of stereotypes about the goals and strategies of sexualizing the characters of all kinds of works of culture and pop culture. The show is an attempt to capture the notions of lust, human fantasies and violent schemes in which we grow up.
