The short life of Alina Szapochnikov, marked by the greatest horrors of the twentieth century, resisted threats through love and art. The intensity of the events and impressions that the artist recorded, her biographer summed up with the word “fervor”. During the lecture, we will recall the amazing biography of the sculptor and see if her art still resists oblivion. In the year of Alina Szapochnikov, this lecture simply belongs to her.

Meet the host:

Jolanta Bobala - a graduate of art history at the Institute of Art History of the Jagiellonian University. He is interested in painting at the turn of the century, photography and ways of interpreting images. She published in the magazine “Szum”. Cooperates with the Department of Education of the Ministry of Education. He leads author tours around Krakow and Krakow museums as part of the Art to go!

About the cycle:

This time we will take a closer look at the biographies and works of selected artists. We will try to look at their works through the prism of life, personality, experiences and times in which they created. We will talk about their inspirations, artistic choices, ambitions and controversies, as well as works that have permanently entered the history of art. We will be interested not only in the work itself, but also in the stories behind its creation and the impact that individuals have had on culture.

Meetings are dedicated to adults.
