“The Extraordinary Story of Sebastian Van Pirk” by Marcin Wicha is a story about self-acceptance, which sometimes has to be reached by a long and tortuous road. The brilliant, vampire-like humor is combined here with a wise lesson on how to look at yourself. Even if the long-awaited fangs do not appear in the mirror.

About the event

“The Extraordinary Story of Sebastian Van Pirk” by Marcin Wicha is a story about self-acceptance, which sometimes has to be reached by a long and tortuous road. The brilliant, vampire-like humor is combined here with a wise lesson on how to look at yourself. Even if the long-awaited fangs do not appear in the mirror.

How can you be a vampire without fangs? To scare or to laugh? And what will the parents say when they discover that young Sebastian prefers to prank rather than lurk in the dark? That she hates liver, and she likes radishes and lettuce?

Meet Sebastian Van Pirk (of those Van Pirks). A vampire who must prove to the whole world that he deserves to be called a monster straight out of a horror novel. At least that's what his family would like. However, Sebastian has a different opinion. Will she find her own place in a world full of panic and confusion.

We invite you to a musical performance in a horror convention, where wit thickens.

Przemysław Gulda — guldapoleca: The extraordinary story of Sebastian Van Pirk

The respected writer is trying his hand at a new form: he created a dramatic text for children. This is a comedic horror film, full of surprising events and funny word games. The motifs characteristic of Wicha could not be missing either — there are important objects, there is a black square. It is a colorful, dynamic, full of twists and songs show, very firmly embedded in the vampire pop culture tradition — it is referenced by scenography, costumes, as well as acting, full of quotes and allusions to horror classics.

Anna Czajkowska — Where are your vampire fangs?

A musical for children, full of metaphors, fun with words, with interesting associations combined with literality, was able to tune Marcin Wicha very neatly and unconventionally. Marek Zákostelecký uses his love for the absurd, light surrealism, adds surprising, unexpected solutions and, together with the author of the story, prepares a hit performance in Gulliver, for which Martin Husovský, a singer and composer from Slovakia, writes music.

Paulina Sygnatowicz — Vampires are among us. Let them be themselves

If you are five years old and you are a fan of Vampirina (the heroine of the Disney cartoon), you are teenagers and you love Wednesday Adams (who celebrates triumphs on Netflix) or you have already entered that age when you remember with reverence “The Addams Family” (in the 1991 film version), go to the Gulliver Theater for a fantastic monstrous spectacle “The Extraordinary Story of Sebastian Van Pirk”. You guys are gonna have a great time. And when you leave the theater, you may feel a little better in your own skin.

Rafał Turowski — The Extraordinary Story of Sebastian Van Pirek

I spent a wonderful, carefree two hours in Gulliver, alternating — croaking with laughter like a guppy (the full moon scene is a masterpiece) and—struggling to contain the emotion. I watched a well-written, beautifully and fantastically shown, sensationally played and sung thing about — the price of being yourself, about the power of friendship, about the fact that the adult world may sometimes not have a fifth bar and that, in general, it's also kind of cool. And that this issue seems to be relevant for viewers of all ages, so before watching this performance, do not be deceived by the place of exhibition or age restrictions (5+).

We are facing one of the best premieres of the capital of the season, I can't imagine that you will not see this brilliantly done, too sweet and - wise show.

Beata Kośmider — Vampire and Man

The story of Sebastian Van Pirk is a story about discovering the true self and growing up to self-acceptance. About the right to be oneself, without being forced to continue traditions or fulfill other people's desires. It is also the image of parents who, loving, accepting. They are able to move away from expectations for the child, trying to understand his needs and see talents.
