The action of the play takes place in France. For some, the country is a gourmet paradise of sophisticated culture; for others, such as producer Henry Saunders, it is a hotbed of debauchery and hedonism.

Both are united by the fact that everyone is eagerly awaiting the concert of world-famous tenors, including Tito Merelli.

Tito Merelli, once the greatest lover among tenors, is painfully experiencing the fact that he is getting older. His enemy number one (although this “enemy” does not know anything about it) becomes the young and capable singer Carlo. It is not only the artist's ego that suffers, but also — and perhaps above all — the ego of the man. Tito fears that he is no longer as attractive as he used to be.

Therefore, when the tenor covers his wife in the room with a young man, he gets white fever. Of course, this is one of the many mistakes that build this farce. There are many more in art...

“Nobody loves like a tenor” is a neat mishmash of elements of high and popular culture, elements of several cultures - primarily Italian and French, in a funny way combining characters and appearances and professions of heroes.

In the end, the grand finale takes place, but not in the shape that everyone expected...
