When Tommy receives a phone call inviting his band to open for Green Day on New Year's Eve, he has no idea that it's an ingenious prank from his older brother Wayne. Desperately hoping that his life will change soon, Tommy steals Wayne's car and sets off with his band from Kansas City to Los Angeles — determined to travel the distance in three days. What follows is a wild and hilarious road trip across America, inspired by the early days of Green Day when they were still touring in a van — years before the release of their hit album “Dookie.”
