Nina Garcia, Olga Anna Markowska — Svmerki (guest concert)

Svmerki and Zamek Ujazdowski invite you to the concert of Nina Garcia — French experimental guitarist — and Olga Anna Markowska, Polish interdisciplinary artist, multi-instrumentalist and composer.

Nina Garcia has been exploring the possibilities of the electric guitar since 2015, moving on the border between improvised music and noise. Using guitar, effects and amplifier, she creates intense, unobvious soundscapes where strength meets fragility and precision meets unpredictability. In his latest research, he explores the sound of the instrument in the smallest detail, using feedback, silence and looped sounds.

After a decade of touring under the label Mariachi, she released her first album under her own name, Bye Bye Bird, released by Ideologic Organ, led by Stephen O'Malley of the band Sunn O)))). Garcia also co-creates projects Autoreverse and Le Un and performs with artists from the international experimental music scene.
Olga Anna Markowska combines the sounds of acoustic instruments such as the cello and the zither with electronics to create immersive sound compositions. In her practice, she studies memory, identity and the relationship of man with nature, also working with the image, soundproofing installations and composing film music.

Her solo releases include EP Thrills (2024) and the album ISKRA (2025), published by Berlin-based label Miasmah. Her work has been presented during the Unsound festivals in Krakow, Kiezsalon in Berlin, donaufestival in Krems and Copenhagen Photo Festival.

The meeting of the two artists is an opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of sound practices, combining experiment, improvisation and the search for new forms of musical expression.
