Nina 仁奈

Nina 仁奈, an up-and-coming jazz vocalist and pianist, will launch her debut album, Komorebi (木漏れ日), at PizzaExpress Live Chelsea on the 18th of November. Having recently concluded her time studying jazz at Trinity Laban, she has quickly established her identity with a refreshing, innovative sound.

Blending her Japanese heritage and her newfound home in England, Komorebi reflects her deep connection to the natural world and marries together different cultures, genres and languages. Join us for an evening where worlds will collide, and blossoms will bloom.

Nina 仁奈 is a jazz vocalist and pianist from Tokyo. Having Japanese and American family, she naturally has a broad global perspective and a deeply creative, open minded outlook. After relocating to London to study jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, she spent years honing her musicianship and sophisticated harmonic language, and refining her singular identity as a vocalist, pianist, and composer.

With her captivating debut album, Komorebi (木漏れ日), Nina presents a sun dappled collection of songs inspired by the sights, sounds and stillness of the natural world. Komorebi is a Japanese word describing the beauty of light shining through the leaves of the trees. Crafted using both Japanese and English, the album acts as a bridge between cultures, offering a space where complex structures feel as gentle as the rustle of leaves or the changing light of the seasons, and where rich musicality and vulnerable expression coexist. Each track is full of vibrant scenery and emotional depth that captures growth, stillness and renewal.

Nina’s balance between complex writing and emotional execution brings listeners into her very own soundworld. Nina has collaborated with big and small jazz ensembles here in London at renowned venues like the 606 Club, PizzaExpress Live Soho, and CFL Art Lounge. Performed alongside her peers from Trinity Laban, Komorebi marks a formative milestone in her ongoing artistic journey.
