With their relaxed, groovy indie rock, No Cigar has earned a growing fan base all over the world. In November 2026, the band from Aotearoa, New Zealand, will come to Germany for three concerts. After sold-out tours in Great Britain and New Zealand, the quintet is bringing its own headline tour to Germany for the first time.

Since their formation in Auckland, the band has gradually earned fame beyond New Zealand with their casual yet driving guitar sound. No Cigar combines indie rock, surfing influences and alt-pop melodies to create a sound that moves forward both light-footed and rhythmically. Willy Ferrier (lead vocals), Josh Morrice (guitar and vocals), Arthur Gillies (guitar and vocals), Sam Benson (bass) and Ned Gow (drums) developed this casual sound, leaving room for atmospheric moments and sound experiments again and again. Songs like “Cool” or “These Are The Days” are examples of how easily the band can switch between loose indie rock and emotional depth.

With three studio albums to date, No Cigar have continuously developed their style. After the debut “Bienvenido” (2022) and the sequel “The Great Escape” released in 2023, which also brought the band greater international attention, “Under The Surface” was followed in 2025 by their most ambitious work to date. Large parts of this album were created during the band's European tour in Chantilly, a small town north of Paris. There, the five rehearsed, wrote and recorded new music while traveling across Europe. The album was completed during their last tour through New Zealand together with producer Connor Jaine.

On stage in particular, it is clear why No Cigar was able to build up such a loyal fan base in a short period of time. Their concerts are based on the mix of driving guitar riffs, dynamic songwriting and the tangible energy of a band that feels particularly at home live. At three concerts in November, fans in Germany now have the opportunity to see No Cigar live and be convinced of their contagious joy of playing.
