In a small town in northern Norway, Eira (Keira LaHart) tries to follow in the footsteps of her sparkly intense and creative sister Vera (Ruby Dagnall). But something is starting to change. In an attempt to understand his sister, Eira begins reading Vera's diary. Now she steps into Vera's universe of intense lights, glimmers, mythology and hope for a better world -- but the diary also reveals a darkness that leaves Eira confused. Franciska Eliassen's feature film debut, with its look at the mental suffering of young people in the shadow of capitalism and the climate crisis, is both topical, brutal and unflinchingly honest. It doesn't necessarily want us to understand, but to experience existential angst.
