NOTION

NOTION turns up the energy in VEGA

UK garage, bassline, jungle, house and drum and bass. At NOTION, genres are rarely allowed to stand still for very long.

Bristol-based DJ and producer Rob Penny has, over more than a decade, shaped his own sound with roots deeply planted in British club culture. From the first DJ jobs with jump-up drum and bass on vinyl, NOTION has developed an energetic expression where heavy bass runs, fast tempo shifts and melodic moments constantly collide.

His big break came with his remix of Chrystal's “The Days”. The number exploded on social media, reaching fourth place on the UK singles chart and has since rounded up more than 500 million streams on Spotify. The success simultaneously secured NOTION a nomination for Song of the Year at the 2026 BRIT Awards.

But NOTION's universe extends far beyond one viral hit. On projects such as OUTSIDER and FORWARDS, he moves freely between garage, house, breaks and jungle, while his Dance Dubs series has given his own edits and bootlegs from the DJ desk a life outside the club.

And it is precisely in front of an audience that NOTION's music really comes into its own. With fast mixes, heavy bass and a constant finger on the club pulse, he has played to tightly-packed crowds at festivals such as Glastonbury, Creamfields, Hideout and Leeds Festival.

Now it's Big Vega's turn to feel the bass when NOTION comes by on November 21.
