NOTTING HILL before the film lecture by Prof. Marek Hendrykowski

“Notting Hill” by Roger Michell UK, USA, 1999, 124 minutes

For any man, meeting Anna Scott, the most beloved actress in the world, would be the fulfillment of his innermost dreams. For anyone, but not for William Thacker, a London bookseller from Notting Hill who just didn't know her! However, when he accidentally spilled orange juice on her a few minutes later, he knew how to behave. He invited Anna to his apartment so she could change clothes, and she thanked him for her kindness with a kiss. This unexpected gesture took a toll on the lives of both of them. From now on, they will meet more and more often. She will introduce him to the world of show business, where you can not take a step without the consent of the agent and the presence of the press, he will remind her of the existence of corners away from the hustle and bustle, where only privacy matters. Will he be able to overcome his innate shyness at the decisive moment?
