New book: Piotr Dumała in conversation with Joanna Tadzik, PWSFTvit Publishing House
A story about the artistic path and search for inspiration of the creator of award-winning animated and feature films. It is a conversation about the importance of life's fascinations and experiences, about “extracting the essence” of content and form in each artistic challenge undertaken — not only in the films themselves — but also in sculpture, painting, comics, first sketches or storyboards.
When Franz Kafka, Henri Michaux, Eleonora Carrington, and Little Red Riding Hood dreamed collectively with the Lumière brothers, Dumal slipped out of their united selves. And although he was greeted dreamily, somehow he broke through (with a stylus? with a dry needle?) to wake up. For the stranger, he put on shoes, put on a sweater, and humanly pressed glasses on his nose. But let's not get carried away! Piotr Dumała is a wonderful Anomaly, Singularity, Aberration, who in a conversation with Joanna Tadzik tries to bring her own otherness to earth. And I, reading this biographical camouflage, succumb to the story and almost begin to believe that Peter's imagination comes from this world, and he himself, like other great magicians, was once a boy.
