THE KING'S NEW CLOTHES

“The King's New Robes” is a puppet-actor family musical in which a classic fairy tale becomes a contribution to tell about ourselves.

This fairy tale by Andersen is known to everyone. In love with himself and his outfits, the ruler, the crooked tailors, non-existent robes and the famous cry: “The king is naked!” But we decided to take a closer look at this story. For why, in fact, does the king love beautiful clothes so much, why does he surround himself with objects at all costs, he only desires to have, to possess and to look? What made him forget about what is really important, about the celebration of life, about loved ones? In the twenty-first century, do we not find around us “kings” like him? Or are we ourselves?

Our “New King's Robes” are happening here and now, when the fashion world is ruled by big, eccentric makers-dictators, when money and time work are more important than being together, when loneliness is drowned out by ever newer gadgets. To the classic fairy tale, we also added a good dose of absurd humor, characteristic of the pen of Malina Przedulgi, and even more songs.
