Master of Melancholy blurs VEGA in indie rock well sound

After last year's concert at Ideal Bar, NP York is back in VEGA — now with a new album in their arms.

Because in March the single “Walk On By” landed, and now the songwriter with a penchant for melancholy and raw nerve can now announce both a new single, a brand new album and a concert in Lille VEGA on November 26.

The frontrunner “Sugar” has just been released alongside the news that the musician will be album current in September. The release is titled What's Next? and is recorded live in the studio under loving and knowledgeable treatment from Kaspar Kaae (Cody) and Asger Techau (Kashmir).

On the upcoming cut, an indie-rocketed sound universe blazes, where NP York's distinctive dark vocals take on the listener in hand-played, catchy compositions.

NP York debuted in 2024 with the album, Music for Fools, which went into rotation on P5, among others. And the single “Walk On By” then also received a brilliant reception, with P6 radio host Carsten Holm throwing roses after the number with the lines:

“It sounds a bit like a descendant of David Bowie, Nick Cave, Lou Reed, Tindersticks and Johnny Cash. And I think there's something really charming about this. So, try listening to this.”

For the concert in Lille VEGA, NP York fills the stage with a crew of as many as seven musicians.

Audiences can expect a concert where the music is vibrant and unpredictable, with NP York delivering analogue snapshots of modern man in a concert experience that quivers between the intimate and sensitive and the explosive and wild.
