About the event
Venue: Kammer - Friedrich Hölderlin and Ludwig van Beethoven were not only born in the same year. If you take a closer look, you also discover artistically astonishing parallels: the often disturbing, puzzling power of her works, the enthusiasm for the French Revolution and profound disappointment at its outcome, her private isolation, her search for the saving other. Corinna Harfouch and Hideyo Harada explore these similarities in Hölderlin's and Beethoven's life and work in their program. They combine Hölderlin's poems, hymns and elegies, excerpts from his novel Hyperion and philosophical reflections on ancient Greek music with musical works from the Viennese classic and thus approach these two artists in word and sound in an extraordinary program.
