DR Symphony Orchestra

Welcome to the DR Symphony Orchestra's traditional New Year Gala!

This year's soloists are two aspiring young singing stars who will make their debut in the DR Koncerthuset: soprano Sofie Lund, recipient of the Aalborg Opera Prize 2026 and Talent of the Year at the Copenhagen Opera Festival in 2024, and dramatic soprano Laura Helene Hansen, known for example from the DR documentary The Next Diva.

Among the concert's highlights will be the hit aria Habanera from Bizet's Carmen, Gounod's exuberant Jewel aria and opera gems such as Je veux vivre and the beautiful duet Barcarolle from Hoffmann's Adventures of Offenbach, which also stands for the iconic Can Can music from Galop Infernal. And then, of course, you can look forward to lots of the classic New Year's tones, which are loved in concert halls around the world.

True to tradition, the foyer is full of bubbles, canapés and tender New Year's atmosphere, and in the festively decorated Concert Hall the orchestra dazzles for the most beautiful French musical temptations one could wish for on the very last days of the year.

Canapes and bubbles included in your ticket
In connection with the concert, you can enjoy a glass of organic bubbles and delicious canapés. Both bubbles are served with and without alcohol — note that the non-alcoholic bubbles are not organic.

When are canapes and bubbles served?

30/12, concert at 3pm: Bubbles & canapés will be served before the concert from 2pm
30/12, concert at 6.30pm: Bubbles & canapés served after the concert
31/12, concert at 1:00 p.m.: Bubbles & canapés will be served before the concert from 12:00 p.m.
31/12, concert at 4pm: Bubbles & canapés served after the concert for the King's New Year's Speech
