New Year's Concert at the Opera 2026

For nearly 600 years, the Royal Chapel has enriched Danish cultural life at the highest artistic level. Throughout the years, many prominent musicians, conductors, composers and singers have visited both Gamle Scene and Operaens Store Scene, while prominent figures such as Carl Nielsen have been associated with the orchestra. That legacy is paid homage when German-American conductor Evan Rogister, along with a party-dressed chapel, interprets some of the absolute highlights of classical music history -- from Mozart to Strauss and Stravinsky to Bernstein and Thomas Adès -- as well as Nordic masters like Sibelius, Grieg, Lumbye and Carl Nielsen, all inextricably linked with the world's oldest orchestra.

At the last of the New Year's concerts on December 31, bubbles will be served during the break and His Majesty King Frederick X's New Year's speech will be shown live on a big screen
