L'Étranger is a new adaptation of one of the most outstanding French novels of the 20th century by Albert Camus, published in 1942.
François Ozon tells the story of Meursault, a modest, inconspicuous official whose daily routine is not interrupted even by the death of his mother. Until a tragic event occurs on the beach one hot day. The adaptation of Ozone, which premiered in the Main Competition of the Venice Festival, is an extremely topical story about the search for meaning in a world where all meaning has been lost. Sparing dialogues and beautiful black and white pictures, which are a tribute to classic cinema, build a unique atmosphere of the film. Starring Benjamin Voisin (“Lost Illusions”, “Summer of '85”) and Rebecca Marder (“My Crime”).
