A quarter of a century has passed since Steffen Kummer founded Obscura, a band that has paved its way to the forefront of progressive and technical death metal. The inspiration of Gorguts is obvious here, but in the music of the German band you can find clues that lead to the melodies characteristic of the Gothenburg scene. Obscura combines precision with high intensity, and in all this there is still room for a hit. Is it hard to glue it all together? On Nuclear Blast's “A Sonication” album released last year, they prove that it comes easily to them.

Pestilence were formed in 1986 and thanks to the records released at the turn of the last two decades of the 20th century such as “Malleus Maleficarum”, “Consuming Impulse” and “Testimony of the Ancients” today we speak of them as a legend of European death metal. The team led by Patrick Mameli initially added elements of thrash to their metal death, and later began to enrich it with progressive elements as well. His discography closes with “Levels of Perception”, released in 2024.

Originally from Leeds, Cryptic Shift has been around for 15 years (for the first 5 years the band operated under the name... Crÿptic Shift). They have already entered the top of space death metal with their first full-length album “Visitations from Enceladus”, but only this year seems to be the turning point in their career, all thanks to Metal Blade Records' “Overspace & Supertime”. They are often compared to Blood Incantation, but don't be fooled by such comments - there is no preying on the trend here, just a clear, perceptible sneak peek. Cryptic Shift are playing in their galaxy, which they will take you to at the beginning of next year.

The youngest veteran band in the whole set is Thus - a progressive death metal band from Aarhus, which was founded in 2020. Four years later, they released their only album to date, the EP “The Terminal Condition of Existence”, and won the Wacken Metal Battle.

The evening will be opened by the French from Dvrk, who seem to be the most modern team in the entire lineup. Their deathcore is loaded with brutality, massive breakdowns and does not escape the use of electronics.
