Eyes of the skin — a movement workshop inspired by architecture

We invite you to workshops inspired by the architecture of the National Old Theater and the book “Skin Eyes. Architecture and Senses” by Juhani Pallasma. Through movement, mindfulness and sensory activities, participants will experience space with all their senses. Together we will discover new relationships between body, architecture and imagination. The workshops are open to both people with no experience in working with traffic and people with experience. We also invite people with alternative motor skills, people with visual disabilities and G/deaf people to participate.

Instructor:
Michał Przybila - performer, dancer, choreographer, movement educator and yoga teacher. A graduate of dance and choreography at the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Łódź. In the years 2016-2020 he was a dancer of the Polish Dance Theater, he also developed his experience within the MASA program and an internship at the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel, the Experimental Choreography Course at the Center in Movement and the DanceWeb program during the ImpulStanz festival in Vienna.In his artistic and pedagogical practice he deals with the body, perception, somatics, improvisation and the search for different ways to experience and communicate through movement. For many years he has also created movement practices accessible to people with diverse motor and sensory skills. He is the author of the workshop “The Living Initiative”, aimed at people related to dance and people with physical disabilities, as well as the “Laboratory of Gesture Reconstruction” realized at the Polish Dance Theater with the participation of people with disabilities, including people G/deaf. In his activities, he is interested in creating a space in which the different ways of moving, feeling and perceiving the body can function as equivalent forms of movement experience.
Practical information:
Please come to the workshop in comfortable clothes and bring your shoes for a change.
Please report any health related issues before the workshop begins.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the workshop.
The theater has no parking spaces. The nearest stop is the Bagatela Theater.
The spaces where the workshops will take place will be accessible to people moving in a wheelchair.
Toilets are located a dozen meters from the main workshop room. One of the toilets is accessible for people with disabilities.
