From one Luciper

Who are the women who stay with us forever? Those whose gestures, smells, words and silence never leave us, even if we try to escape as far as possible from where we come from? “From One Lucyper” is a story about several generations of Silesian women, whose fates intertwine like the roots of one tree. About grandmother, mother and daughter. About women strong, independent, accustomed to the fact that they have to cope on their own. And about the price that is often paid for this strength.

When Kasia accidentally comes across an old photograph, her journey into the depths of her family history begins. The tracks lead to post-war Silesia, extracting from (non) memory the fate of women who tried to find their place in a world of rapid change. What has remained unspoken for years returns, and the old fears, losses and hurts are still present in the lives of subsequent generations. Because the past doesn't always end where silence begins — it is often embedded in what we think, how we deal with emotions, how we love, what we fear.

“From One Luciper” is a story about memory and forgetting, about family secrets and inherited emotions, but above all about women who shape other women: they give them strength, transmit fears, protect and teach them how to survive.
