“From project to medal” | Medallion workshops for youth

Event accompanying the exhibition “Anna Krzymańska. Medals and plaques.”

We invite you to the workshop, which will be conducted by the sculptor and medalist Jarosław Lebedz. During the course, participants will learn a number of practical skills, related to technological processes and methods of casting medals. The workshop group will be introduced successively in the process of designing a medal, making a medal in plasticine and preparing a lost mold and casting a medal in plastic. The work will be crowned with a demonstration of the execution of the mold with preparation for casting in metal by the “on the mulek” method. The workshops will be conducted by students of the Building School Complex No. 1 in Poznań, who are trained in the profession of techniques of restoration of architectural elements. In ZSB1, students acquire skills in working with architectural detail, learn traditional craft techniques and develop their abilities in the field of metalwork. This time they will have the opportunity to use the gained experience in practice — together with the facilitator they will present the selected stages of work and will co-lead the workshop part.
