“In the story of Marysa, a growing girl who, together with her mother, runs away from her abusive father to her grandmother, not only the problems of adolescence, but also the universal problems that we face regardless of age. Environmental pressure and the need to confront trends that are increasingly set by fashionable influencers nowadays. Poverty - and the stigma with which it marks us. The search for one's identity and transsexuality — how to accept oneself in order to be a happy person? Ecology — how are we destroying the world in which we live and in which our children and grandchildren will live? These are just some of the topics. [...] “Courage”, in my opinion, has a very important message that gives strength and optimism. It allows us to look at many things with deeper reflection. Throughout our lives, we face our own fears. As children, we are afraid of the dark, for example, then this fear gives way to another - we begin to fear for the health of loved ones, the upbringing and education of our children, the loss of a job or the fact that we will let someone down. Finally, we are afraid of loneliness and death. But “Courage” reminds us that this is what life is all about. That all these experiences and struggles enrich us, develop us, sensitize us, allow us to grow. They make us better and smarter people,” emphasizes Ewa Pilawska, who socially directed the play.
